LEGAL NOTICE

INVITATION TO BID

 

Sealed bids for the replacement of two boilers and modification of associated supply and return piping, gas piping, flue ducting, electrical connections and temperature control panel to accept new boilers at Deer Park School will be received by the Board of Education of Deer Park Community Consolidated School District No. 82, LaSalle County, Illinois, at its office at 2350 East 1025th Road, Ottawa, Illinois 61530, until 2:00 p.m. Central Prevailing Time on Thursday, January 16, 2025.  Bids will be opened and read aloud at that time. 

 

Bidding Documents may be examined/obtained at the Architect's Plan Room at www.bca-architects.com; Greater Peoria Contractors and  Supplier Association; Illinois Valley Contractor's Association; Northern Illinois Building Contractors Association; www.dodge.construction.com; and www.cmdgroup.com.

 

A pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., at Deer Park School at the address above.  Additional visits will be at the convenience of the District.  The Board of Education reserves the right to disqualify bidders that did not visit the site.  Bidders must submit all questions in writing to Kurt Rimmele, BCA Architects, Ltd., at krimmele@bca-architects.com.  Replies will be issued to all bidders of record in the form of an Addendum.  Questions received after 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday, January 9, 2025, cannot be answered.

 

         All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the sum of the computed total amount of the bid, in the form of a Bid Bond or in the form of a certified check or a cashier's check made payable to Deer Park Community Consolidated School District No. 82.  By submitting a bid, it is agreed that the Bid Security will be forfeited if the bidder fails to execute the agreement or to furnish the Performance and Payment Bonds in conformity with the specifications. The project shall be subject to all requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12).  Each bidder expressly agrees that such bid may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the opening thereof.  Withdrawal within such period shall subject the bidder to forfeiture of Bid Security, as well as penalties and damages to the District.

 

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof,  to waive any informalities, errors or irregularity in bids received or in the bidding process, and to accept the bid that the Board of Education deems the most favorable to its interest after all bids have been examined and canvassed.  The Board of Education will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder that meets the criteria as established in the specifications and the contract will be awarded only after a formal notice is given to the successful bidder pursuant to action by the Board of Education.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE FOR DEER PARK COMMUNITY CONSOLIDATED SCHOOL DISTRICT 82

 

I.  A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax increase for Deer Park Community Consolidated School District 82 for 2023 will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 6:00 P.M. in the Deer Park School Gymnasium.

 

Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Julie DeFore, Superintendent, Deer Park Community Consolidated School District 82, 2350 E 1025th Rd, Ottawa, IL 61350 (815-434-6930).

 

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $1,117,827.47. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $1,241,530.  This represents a 11.07% increase over the previous year.

 

III. The property taxes extended for debt services and public building commission leases for 2022 were $134,130.10. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023 are $131,397.50.  This represents a 2% decrease over the previous year.

 

IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2022 were $1,251,957.57. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2023 are $1,372,927.50This represents a 9.66% increase over the previous year.

NOTICE IS  HEREBY  GIVEN  THAT  The  Community  Consolidated  School District  82  has changed  the  date  of  their regular school board meeting from  January 17, 2022  to  January 18,  2022.  The meeting  will  begin  at  6:00  pm. This meeting has been changed  to avoid conducting the meeting on a state holiday as mandated by Illinois School Code.
